Scavland Factions
Ten groups share the town. You still have to eat.
Zalesye is not an empty map with loot pins. It is a broken society that still has jobs, shops, and people who will remember what you did. Early Access lists ten unique factions and a dynamic reputation system. This hub is the diplomacy layer of the wiki. Read factions for the named groups, reputation for ranks and shop unlocks, and traders for the actual counter.
NoShadow has not published a complete public roster of all ten. We will not invent seven extra names to look finished. The Steam page names the ruthless Gunners, the enigmatic Mudlarks, and the organisers of the Rada, then says many more. Treat every unnamed group as real and unpublished, not as a blank to fill with fan fiction.
Why factions are a beginner topic
A Vulture who only shoots will eventually need a kitchen. Shops hide stock behind rank. Jobs are how you meet people without a thesis. The journal will send you northwest to warn Mudlarks, into town politics, or after a squad that spawned too far from home. That is how to play, with consequences.
Shooting the wrong patrol is not a stealth fail. It is a price change. Stealth and combat both feed this hub. So does survival, because food is faction-coloured when only one vendor still likes you.
How to use these pages
- Factions — who the named groups are, what public copy says, what we refuse to guess.
- Reputation — ranks, shop rows, and how not to paint yourself into a war.
- Traders — selling scrap, buying meds, and why a farmer is part of the meta.
- Jobs — hunts, retrievals, distance pay, and turning work in before you shop.
Then go back to the starting loadout so you do not spend rank money on rags.
Story furniture versus systems
The east beyond highway RO-29, soldiers who shot you, and a promised land are Act I hooks. Factions are the system underneath those hooks. Some want to guide society. Some want to look after themselves. You will side with someone eventually. Day one, you side with whoever buys scrap and sells bread.
Cooperative play is a future plan, not a launch feature, so you will not bring friends to a faction war in the first Early Access build. This is a single-player political survival game. Your save is the only diplomat.
Updates
When NoShadow names the rest of the ten, updates will note it and the faction page will grow. Until 4 September 2026, use this hub as a warning label: the town is not a menu. Talk first. Rank second. War last.
