Scavland Hits 175,000 Wishlists

A six-year indie just got loud. The wasteland still launches on 4 September 2026.

175k Wishlists News

In the last days of August and the first days of September 2026, NoShadow posted a number the press immediately copied: Scavland passed 175,000 Steam wishlists. The studio had already thanked players for 100,000 on 23 August. Early Access is still scheduled for 4 September 2026 on PC Steam. This page is the news brief for that spike, not a review score and not a promise that the first patch will be quiet.

If you only needed the date, stop at Early Access. If you needed to know why every outlet repeated the same paragraph this week, stay here. Then go pack the beginner checklist so launch day is a plan.

What the number actually is

A Steam wishlist is a follow, not a pre-order. It tells the store to ping you when the game is buyable. NoShadow cited 175,000 in social posts that Insider Gaming, Vandal, Infobae, and AllKeyShop repeated on 1–2 September 2026. Treat that as studio-reported marketing weather. It is not a Metacritic, and it is not a concurrent-player count. The game still has no public user reviews because it has not launched.

The same week, the studio’s X account posted a three-day countdown: Early Access on 4 September, wishlist on Steam now. That is the calendar. Updates remains the hub if a Steam news post later disagrees with a screenshot.

Money, machines, and who built it

Press around the milestone repeated a tight store skeleton:

  • Price about $19 USD, 10% off in week one, regional pricing
  • NoShadow has talked about keeping the entry price stable through development
  • PC Steam only at launch. Consoles after 1.0, according to the studio. Full controller and Steam Deck support still ship in Early Access. See Steam Deck.
  • Six years of work. The team grew from three people to about fifteen after UNSUBSCRIBE backed the project.
  • Act I in the first paid build; Act II and Act III planned across an estimated 12–24 months of Early Access. Roadmap labels those as plans.

Buy on the Steam store page when the date unlocks. There is no Roblox version. There is no extraction-raid cash shop hiding behind the wishlist graphic.

What launches with the hype

The wishlist articles recycled the Early Access contents list, which is still the honest one:

  • Handcrafted open world plus procedural underground bunkers
  • Dynamic minimap and world map
  • Journal for contracts, main quests, and side quests
  • Ten factions and a reputation system
  • Firearms, melee, stealth, suppression
  • 25+ weapons and 300+ attachments
  • Crafting, looting, traders, contracts
  • Creatures and environmental hazards

That is Getting Started plus bunkers, not a new mode. A future mode where other people walk the world with you is still a plan without a player count or a date. The first build is single-player PvE. Do not pre-make a four-stack.

How to read launch-week noise

Wishlist spikes attract fake keys, fake “scripts”, and people who will tell you the paid build started on 3 September. It has not. Until 4 September 2026 this wiki’s facts stay upcoming. Official channels live on the links hub: Steam news first, then Discord, then X.

Useful questions the spike does not answer:

  • Whether Act I is long enough for you
  • Whether your laptop meets system requirements (quad-core, 4 GB RAM, 2 GB GPU, 1 GB listed storage — leave headroom)
  • Whether a demo trick still works. The 2025 demo is a slice, not the paid build.

Useful questions it does answer:

  • People are watching. Day-one servers for a single-player game still mean Steam itself, Cloud, and your patience in the download queue.
  • The studio will hear bug reports. File them where NoShadow can see them, not in a comment under a trailer.

What to do before 4 September

  1. Wishlist or ignore on Steam. Either is a real decision. The number is not a moral test.
  2. Spec-check. Handhelds were a design goal; a 2009 integrated GPU is not.
  3. Read how to play and survival so the journal and the Mist are not surprises.
  4. Skim factions so you do not shoot the only kitchen in walking distance.
  5. Bookmark this hub. When the first Steam changelog exists, it will be linked from updates, not invented here.

Creator footage remains footage. The preview page is the sceptic’s reading list. The official demo trailer on this page is the 2025 store beat; the Early Access date trailer lives on the Early Access page.

175,000 follows is a loud room. Zalesye still kills Vultures who walk south without food. Prepare like the number does not exist. Then, if you buy, spend the first hour as if it does: lots of eyes, lots of takes, and a game that was never designed to be a highlight reel.
