Scavland Weapon Builds
Attachments are a playstyle, not a Christmas tree.
Weapon customisation is one of Scavland’s headline systems: stocks, magazines, optics, muzzle devices, grips, and other parts across hundreds of pieces. A build is how you make one gun do a job. It is not how you spend an entire hatch stripping screws. Read the weapon tier list for roles, then come here to specialise. Combat still owns jams. Starting loadout still owns day one.
Rules before you swap parts
- The gun must fire. Condition beats a new stock.
- The magazine must match ammo you can loot.
- Every part has weight and scarcity. Empty the backpack in town first.
- Workbenches are for this. Field kits are for survival, not fashion.
- If a part is unique, do not test it on a C-tier noisemaker.
NoShadow grew this system while the team went from a handful of people to around fifteen. Early Access is the first time most players will see it at 300+ parts. Expect balance patches. This page talks playstyles that should survive number tweaks.
Build: open-ground rifle
Goal: jobs on roads, squad hunts, anything with a horizon.
- Platform: AK-pattern S-tier rifle
- Magazine: largest reliable mag you can feed. A huge mag you cannot refill is a trap.
- Optic: something that helps right-click aimed fire, not a telescope that hides the sprite next to you
- Stock / grip: stability if the game makes recoil visible; otherwise comfort and weight
- Muzzle: flash or recoil device. Save true suppressors for the stealth build
This is the default Vulture. It pairs with survival packing and how to play job loops. You will use it the most. Maintain it the most.
Build: bunker sweeper
Goal: hatches, corridors, event rooms.
- Platform: shotgun or short rifle
- Magazine: enough to clear a room without a panic reload in the door
- Optic: close. Tight halls punish magnification
- Light or sight if the game offers one; bunkers are flickering on purpose
- Muzzle: anything that does not add length you clip on corners
Play this with bunkers and stealth until the first unique enemy. Then it is combat. Do not carry this as your only gun on a ten-minute surface walk.
Build: quiet operator
Goal: retrieval jobs, faction-sensitive camps, night roads you already know.
- Platform: a pistol or rifle that accepts a suppressor when you have one
- Magazine: modest. You should not be spraying
- Muzzle: suppressor first, everything else second
- Melee on F remains the true stealth weapon
- Weight: lowest. Noise is stamina and tin cans
If you cannot find a suppressor, this build is just “take less ammo and walk around”. That is still a build. Politics live on factions. Quiet guns keep shops open.
Build: marksman patience
Goal: long sightlines, the slow five-round rifles demo traders waved at you.
- Platform: three-line / Mosin-style or later marksman family
- Optic: actually useful here
- Magazine: small, so misses are expensive on purpose
- Backup: a pistol, because the second target will not wait
This is for people who already peek. If you are still learning Getting Started, skip it.
Parts you should not romanticise
Optics that hide the floor. Magazines that eat a calibre you do not own. Heavy barrels on a character who is already starving. Grips that exist to look Tarkov-correct in a screenshot. Scavland is pixel art with Tarkov manners, not a gunsmith simulator you owe your rent to.
Sell duplicate parts at traders. Rank may unlock better rows than a bunker ever dropped. Reputation is an attachment farm with extra dialogue.
A simple upgrade path
- Clean the starter rifle.
- Find a magazine that does not starve you.
- Add one sight you understand.
- Only then chase muzzles and stocks.
- Keep a junk gun to strip so your S-tier stays whole.
When Early Access lands on 4 September 2026, we will name parts as players name them. Until then, build for a job, not for a loadout screen. The wasteland does not grade your Tarkov nostalgia.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many attachments are in Scavland?
NoShadow lists 300+ attachments for Early Access: stocks, magazines, optics, muzzles, grips, and more. Availability will vary by traders, loot, and rank.
Should I customise weapons on day one?
No. Maintain the gun first. Follow the starting loadout, then add a magazine and a sight you understand.
What is the best Scavland build?
The open-ground rifle you can feed. Specialists are for bunkers and stealth. There is no single meta before patches exist.
Can a bad gun become good with parts?
Sometimes. A homemade pistol is still C-tier noise. Spend rare parts on a platform in the weapon tier list S or A rows.
