Early Access Roadmap

NoShadow has been unusually plain about the shape of Scavland after launch: three story acts, Early Access for about 12–24 months, Act I on day one, the rest later. This page is that shape. It is not a dated Gantt chart. If a square is missing a month, that is because the studio did not publish a month. For the buy-now brief see Early Access. For systems you can learn today see guides.

Act I (Early Access start, 4 September 2026)

  • First region of Zalesye
  • Core survival, combat, stealth, inventory
  • Ten factions and reputation
  • Main quests, side quests, jobs, contracts
  • Handcrafted surface, procedural bunkers
  • 25+ weapons, 300+ attachments
  • Crafting, repair, traders
  • Journal, world map, minimap
  • Life system: NPCs and creatures acting without you

This is the game you should study. Getting Started assumes Act I. So do factions and bunkers.

Act II and Act III (during Early Access)

Public language: two later acts with new regions, quests, creatures, factions, and equipment. Crafting recipes expand. Bunkers and exploration get more work. Optimisation continues. That is the entire official promise. There is no public date for Act II. There is no public list of which faction appears in which act.

Do not plan a personal wiki around a leaked act title. When Steam news names one, the updates hub will carry it.

Systems still growing

From developer posts across 2025–2026:

  • Job types: squad hunts, rare retrievals, better UI icons
  • Bunker rooms: armories, events, unique enemies
  • A-Life / Life: creatures with goals, hunger, territory, fighting each other
  • Weapon customisation depth
  • Controller and handheld feel
  • Localisation across the listed Steam languages
  • Two game modes were mentioned in a community post as part of a large overhaul; treat extra modes as “ask Steam” until they have names in a launch build

If a feature is in the Early Access include list, it is a launch pillar. If it is only on a Patreon recap, it might already be merged, or it might still be a wish. This wiki prefers the Steam include list.

Future people in your world

NoShadow has said they want a mode where other players can explore the world together. That is a plan. It is not on the Act I include list. This site will not tell you to wait for friends on 4 September 2026. Play single-player. If that mode ships, updates will say so without pretending it was always there.

What the roadmap is for, as a player

  • Buy Act I if Act I is enough
  • Wishlist if you only want 1.0
  • Do not skip survival because Act III might add a better canteen
  • Do not skip reputation because a later faction might be cooler

Six years already happened. The next one or two years are public. That is the deal of Early Access. Read the preview for vibe. Read Steam for the legal store text. Read this page when you want the acts in one place without a trailer editor.

When dated milestones appear, they will be added as dated milestones. Until then, the roadmap is three acts, 12–24 months, and a lot of bunkers.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How long will Scavland stay in Early Access?

NoShadow has estimated 12 to 24 months. That is an estimate, not a contract. Watch Steam news.

What is in Act II?

Officially: more regions, quests, creatures, factions, and gear as part of the remaining two acts. No public date or content list beyond that.

Will Scavland add other players?

A shared exploration mode is planned. It is not part of the advertised Act I include list. Launch play is single-player.

Should I wait for 1.0?

Wait if you need the full three-act story. Play Early Access if you want Act I systems now. See Early Access.
