Scavland Update 0.6.0
Sleeping, job overhaul, rebuilt keybinds, trader rebalance, and Chinese localization.
Update 0.6.0 deployed on 9 September 2026 (Build 25217708). Developer Lucasmml called it “a big one”: sleeping arrived, the controls and keybinding system was completely rebuilt, Jobs received a major overhaul, Traders and loot were extensively rebalanced, and a large pass across weapons was made. Chinese localization also improved. This page is the full headline list with links to affected guides.
Sleeping System
The most-requested feature since Early Access launch is here:
- Full resting system: Sleep at campfires, rest areas, and safe rooms to pass time and restore condition
- Health regeneration: Sleeping accelerates natural healing alongside campfire healing from the Day One Patch
- Time passage: The day-night cycle advances normally during sleep — plan accordingly for night raids
- Safe room option: Underground bunker safe rooms now support sleep, making deep runs less punishing
- Survival impact: Sleeping still costs hunger, thirst, and radiation exposure — do not treat it as free healing
This changes survival pacing significantly. Extended runs can now end with a rest rather than a desperate march back to town. See the survival guide update for the new recommended kit.
Controls and Keybinding Overhaul
The entire input system was rebuilt from scratch:
- Custom keybindings: Full rebinding support for keyboard and controller
- Controller-native layout: Inventory, looting, and menu navigation rebuilt for gamepad comfort
- Accessibility improvements: More input options and clearer binding UI
- Steam Deck optimization: Handheld mode benefits from the controller rebuild
If your muscle memory feels wrong after this patch, check controls for the new defaults and remapping guide.
Job System Overhaul
Jobs received their first major revision since Early Access launch:
- New job types confirmed: Squad hunts and rare retrievals mentioned in the roadmap are now active
- Better job UI icons: Easier to scan available contracts at a glance
- Refresh cycle: 24-hour contract rotation maintained, now with clearer timing
- Reputation gates: Some jobs now require minimum faction rank — check reputation before taking a contract
- Bunker job events: Job-related events inside bunkers expanded and rebalanced
This overhaul connects directly to jobs and reputation. If a contract feels different, it probably is.
Trader and Loot Rebalancing
The economy received its first major tune since launch:
- Nadja’s screw stock: Further adjustments beyond the Day One increase
- Sasha’s inventory tiers: Level-gated weapons now more predictable at each reputation rank
- Loot tables: Container drops revised — some items now rarer, some more common
- Barter values: Trade ratios adjusted to reflect the current economy
- Stock refresh: Daily trader restocks continue, now with clearer visual feedback
See traders for the current rank breakdown and loot for where to find specific items.
Weapon Balance Pass
A broad pass across the weapon roster:
- Damage rebalancing: Several rifles and shotguns had base damage adjusted
- Attachment compatibility: Some previously compatible attachments no longer fit certain platforms
- Jam rates: Subtle changes to condition thresholds on high-tier weapons
- New weapon positions: Some guns that were tiered incorrectly have been reclassified
The weapon tier list and builds pages reflect these changes. If your go-to rifle feels different, it is not your imagination.
Chinese Localization
Simplified Chinese received significant quality improvements:
- Fixed menu text inconsistencies flagged by the community
- UI strings now consistent with English equivalents
- No new languages added — the five-language roster (en, fr, de, es, pt) remains
Lighting Fix
Fixed a bug where lighting flickered while sleeping. This was a cosmetic issue that could interrupt rest in dark environments.
